Demographics

The Demographics File tracks the questions and possible responses you want to track for your customers. The RAM System allows you to set up an unlimited number of questions to ask customers, such as age, gross income, what other rental stores have they rented from etc.

To add a question

1. Click on ADD on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

2. Use the FIELD DESCRIPTIONS table(s) to help you fill in the fields on each screen.

FIELD DESCRIPTIONS - DEMOGRAPHICS
Question Base	A question can be based on customers or agreements. If a question is customer-based, the question is prompted when the user adds a new customer. If a question is agreement-based, the question is prompted when the user rents an agreement. A drop-down box reveals the choices. Click on the correct choice.
Question Number	The question number field is a unique number used to identify the question in the Demographics File.
Question Text	The question text field is the question as it will appear when prompted. This should be in the form of a question, so when the user is prompted, he or she can ask the customer the question as you want it asked. For example, instead of inputting "Age", you could input "How old are you?" and this would prompt the user to ask that question.
Responses	You are allowed up to (10) ten responses to each question input. These are the choices given to the customer at the time the question is posed. These become the demographic categories when reporting statistics about your customer base. For example, if the question text is "How old are you?" the responses could be 1. 18-25? 2. 26-35? 3. 36-45? 4. 46-55? 5. 55-UP? This would track 5 different demographic categories for age.

3. Click SAVE on the toolbar, when all the information is correct.

To collect the data from customers

When adding a customer or renting inventory the question is prompted for depending on the "base" of the question.

Choose one of the responses to track the demographic statistics and then click PROCEED.

To change an existing question

The Question Base and Question Number are disabled if the question has customer responses associated with it. Example: If you have already answered this question for any customer, you cannot change the base or the number.

1. Use NEXT and/or PREVIOUS on the toolbar to select the question and responses you want to modify.

2. Change the fields necessary and click SAVE.

To delete an existing question

Removing this record will also remove all responses to this question. Really Delete?
Yes or No

This message is displayed when you try to delete a question that already has responses associated with it. If you choose No the question and all the answers from your customers are not deleted, but if you choose Yes the question and all the answers that you have tracked from your customers will be deleted.

To print a file listing

Click PRINT under the grid to print a list of the file displayed.
