The Color File allows you to set up as many colors of inventory as are used by your company. In this way you are able to keep track of different colors that may be moving better than others. This file is especially useful for furniture colors such as sofas.
Colors are used by the Inventory File to help group categories into larger groups. The colors entered in this file are listed in the drop-down box on the Inventory screen.

This is an example of (6) six color records. Color records are displayed in a grid.
To add a color
Click ADD at the top of the Colors form. Fill in the fields in each column according to the descriptions below.

After you add a color record, the grid is refreshed and YOUR new color is listed in alphabetical order. |
To print a file listing
Click PRINT at the top of the form to print a list of the file displayed.

A color codes allow you to more accurately describe a piece of inventory. The color code allows you to distinguish between a Ebony coffee table and a Burgundy coffee table. |
If you do not want to track the color for an inventory item, you must ADD a record in the Color File that has a color name of "NOT USED" or "NO COLOR", some way to designate that there is not a color being tracked. Then use this color code when adding inventory for which you do not want to track color. |
