The Rating File determines whether or not you would allow this customer, based on your evaluation of his payment performance, is allowed to rent again. Customers normally terminate rental agreements on a regular basis. They are either not happy with the item or they can no longer make the payments. This option allows you to easily sort the customers by their rating for labels and can give you a warning before renting to the customer again.
Ratings are used by the Customer File to assign payment history ratings to customers. The ratings entered in this file are listed in the drop-down box on the Customer screens.

This is an example of (5) five rating records. Rating records are displayed in a grid.
To add a rating
Click the ADD button at the top of the rating form. Fill in the fields in each column according to the descriptions below.

This column contains the (1) one character code given to each rating record. |

Type the message you want to be displayed as a warning when the user tries to rent to this customer. |

This field determines whether or not the system will display the warning associated with this rating.
Check this box if you want a warning box to be displayed when you rent to this customer. The warning message is displayed when you try to rent to this customer. A warning may be displayed even if you are able to rent to the customer.
DO NOT check this box if you do not want to see a warning box. |

This field determines if a customer has this rating does the system allow users to rent to that customer.
Check this box if you want to be able to rent to customers with this rating code.
DO NOT check this box if you do not want to rent to these customers. The system does not allow rentals to customers with a rating that does not have this box checked. |

This field determines whether or not customers with this rating will receive mailings.
Check this box if you want customers with this rating to receive mailings from your company.
DO NOT check this box if you do not want these customers to receive mailings. The Mailing Label option looks at the customer's rating to determine which customers should have a label printed for them. This option skips customers that have a rating code that does not have this box checked. |

To print a file listing
Click the PRINT button at the top of the form to print a list of the file displayed.

The rating of a customer determines how well the customer paid. A good rating would mean the customer paid on time, most of the time. A bad rating would mean the customer was late, most of the time. |
